About KD Decoratives Ltd.
Going GreenAugust 2008
The start of 2008 also brought the start of a new recycling regime at
KD Decoratives. A "baler" has been obtained for cardboard and polythene, a "waste compactor" for general waste and a "Styromelt Polystyrene Machine" to reduce our bulky polystyrene waste into small compact blocks.
We now recycle cardboard, paper, plastic, polythene, metal and polystyrene. Since January we have achieved 65% recycling waste, reducing our landfill waste by 18 tonnes.
We will continue to look at ways of recycling, saving energy and costs
with ideas of a wood burning heater for joinery waste and even our own
power generator. These savings have been achieved through everybody at KD supporting the initiative, though we haven’t quite persuaded them to start a KD vegetable patch yet!
